Independent Study Contracts
Please read the following carefully before you consider requesting an Independent Study Contract.
According to Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 6158, students are limited 3 short-term (5-10 days) Independent Study contracts in their K-12 career, and only one per year.
No Independent Study agreements are allowed the first 20 days of school, nor the last 20 days of the school year.
Teachers must be given 10 school days notice for any Independent Study.
Independent Study contracts are for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 days.
Contracts must be approved by the principal and teacher.
Contracts must be signed by parent and student before departure.
Assignments and materials will be given to the student or parent at the end of the day before the trip.
All work is due on the date the student is scheduled to return to school.
Three missing assignments can mean revocation of the Independent Study (teacher/principal judgment).
